Can it be? Surely not? A race in 2020?
As everyone is aware, the worldwide pandemic (COVID-19) wiped out racing through Q1 and Q2. But as the risk of infection reduced, some forms of racing, Such as time trials have been able to recommence.
Great news, well it would have been had I not come down and broken my collarbone badly at around the same time and requiring surgery to get it plated.
Recover felt long, as my fellow competitors started getting results on the board. But on the 15th of August that changed. I was finally ready to compete in an event.
The event in question was a 25 Mile TT run by Wrekinsport CC. Despite some hot temps, A less than ideal 65km warmup ride and terrible pacing, I took the win in a time of 52mins 37seconds, to kick-start the new season in the best way.
More races to come but in honesty, it is just good to be back on the road.
